About Persian Blends
Thank you for visiting Persian Blends. I'm Yasmina - A British Iranian based in North West London. Growing up in Tehran I remember that every activity during the day was punctuated with freshly brewed tea from the lush tea gardens of Lahijan in North Iran. It would brew on the stove all hours of the day ready to be served to anyone in need of a pick me up. If you had guests it was decorated with rose petals and flavoured with cardamom. If you wanted to go the extra mile it was served with fresh pastries from one of Tehran’s many boulangeries. I've always carried with me the rich traditions and flavours that go along with this Persian heritage.
Traditional Persian tea was a cornerstone of our family gatherings and daily life in Tehran. When we moved to England my mother and I shared countless cups of tea, nurturing our love for this tradition. It was during these moments that I realised how special our tea culture is, and how much I wanted to share it with others.
We’re a nation of tea lovers in the UK and there’s an abundance of varieties available. But there was an absence of the authentic taste of Persian tea. I missed the smooth, full-bodied flavours of Lahijan tea with its the subtle hint of honey-like sweetness. I thought that tea lovers in the UK should also have the opportunity to experience and enjoy tea from Iran which is so rare for find in UK shops.
So I set about creating what I wish had existed and that’s how Persian Blends was born. I wanted to bring the exquisite flavours of Persian tea and its beautiful culture to the UK.
The journey to perfecting Persian Blends has been two years in the making. I sampled a variety of Lahijan tea, experimenting with different blends to ensure that the tea we offer is nothing short of exceptional. I drank a lot of tea during that process as you can see from a photo on the right from just one of the tasting sessions.
Today, I am proud to sell Persian Blends directly to customers. The tea is not just about taste; it's about experiencing a piece of Persian culture and heritage. I’ve received wonderful feedback from customers, who are falling in love with the authentic taste of Persian tea.
